Himachal Celebrates 76th Republic Day with Pride: Governor Hoists Tricolor at Ridge Ground

(Shimla) Himachal Pradesh, Kumud Sharma, January 26: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla proudly hoisted the national flag during the state-level celebrations of the 76th Republic Day at the historic Ridge Ground in Shimla on Sunday. He took the salute from a spectacular march past led by Parade Commander Lieutenant Gagandeep Chauhan of the 22nd Jammu and Kashmir Rifles. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also attended the event, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.

On this special occasion, a vibrant parade featured contingents from the Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Himachal Pradesh Armed Police, Punjab Police, State Police, Home Guards, Fire Services, Himachal Pradesh Postal Services, Disaster Management, Ex-Servicemen, National Cadet Corps, National Service Scheme Cadets, and Bharat Scouts and Guides. The tableaux, showcasing the developmental achievements of various departments, were the highlight of the event. Additionally, cultural performances from groups representing Kinnaur, Hamirpur, Shimla, Mandi, as well as the North Zone Cultural Centre Patiala-Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, added a festive and patriotic spirit to the Republic Day celebrations.

The occasion was graced by a distinguished gathering, including Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, MLA Harish Janartha, Principal Advisor (Media) to the Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan, and Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Sunil Sharma. Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Director General of Police Dr. Atul Verma, Principal Secretary Devesh Kumar, Mayor Surendra Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, along with senior administrative, police, and military officers, were also present. People from all corners of the state joined in the celebrations, adding to the grandeur of the 76th Republic Day event.
