Kangra: Electricity connections of government schools are being cut in Fatehpur, the department is taking action for not paying the electricity bill

Fatehpur/(Kangra) Himachal Pradesh, Kumud Sharma, January 22: 53 government schools of Fatehpur are going to be dark soon. Electricity connection of one government school has been disconnected by the electricity department while temporary disconnection order has been issued to other 53 schools.

Assistant Engineer of State Electricity Board Sub Division Fatehpur, Abhijeet Singh said that despite repeated notices and temporary disconnection (TDCO), schools did not pay their electricity bills.

In case of non-payment of bill, electricity connection of one school has been disconnected and the process of disconnecting connections of other schools will be started within two days.

He told that 48 primary schools of the area have bills of Rs 1 lakh 85 thousand pending. Out of middle, high and secondary schools, five schools have not paid the bill of Rs 1 lakh 18 thousand 5 hundred, due to which orders have been issued to disconnect their connections.

Abhijeet Singh, Assistant Engineer Fatehpur told Diary Times that, “45 primary schools are Before we have issued orders to disconnect the connection of government primary schools, prior notices have been given to them multiple times but because they have not deposited the bills, we are now forced to proceed for temporary disconnection (TDCO). We have to collect around Rs 1,85,000 from the primary schools and there are around 48 schools. If they deposit the amount this week, their connection will not be disconnected, otherwise their connection will be disconnected this week if they do not deposit the bill.”
