Shimla, (Himachal Pradesh) [India], January 12 (Diary Times): In a tragic incident in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, 50-year-old Home Guard jawan Ravinder, who served in the Vigilance Department, died instantly due to an electric shock. The incident occurred on Saturday evening at his government quarter when he was off duty. Ravinder, a resident of Kathain village in Kumarsain tehsil of Shimla district, was deeply mourned by his family and colleagues.

The New Shimla Police have taken possession of the body of 50-year-old Home Guard jawan Ravinder and have begun investigating the incident. It is reported that Ravinder was alone in his quarter, located near the Vigilance Headquarters, at the time of the incident. He had a heater in his room, which he used for cooking. Preliminary investigations suggest that he died instantly from an electric shock while using the heater to cook food.

Forensic team collected evidence

As soon as the information of the incident was received, the investigation officer of New Shimla police station and the forensic team reached the spot. The team inspected the spot and collected all evidence through photography and videography. Police officials said that the real cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report comes.

The police said that they will complete the process of conducting the post-mortem on Sunday. The investigating officer says that prima facie it seems to be a case of death due to electric shock, but the situation will be completely clear only after the forensic report and post-mortem. At present, the police is investigating the case from every aspect.
