Shimla, the capital, saw snowfall during the day, much to the delight of the tourists. The higher elevations of the Shimla district have experienced a little dusting of snow. The snowfall has forced the closure of National Highway-05, which connects Theog to Narkanda. Nevertheless, automobiles are free to use National Highway-705 from Theog to Hatkoti. A blanket of snow at Manali, a tourist’s paradise
In the higher parts of Manali, new snow has fallen. A blanket of white snow covers the hills here, making them a popular destination for sightseers. Nonetheless, people are turning to bonfires and warm clothing as the cold has intensified as a result of the temperature dip.
On the plains, heavy rain and thick fog
Fog and rain have also impacted life on the state’s plains. Una, Bilaspur, and Hamirpur are all affected by the heavy rain and thick fog. A yellow fog warning is in effect for the plains for the following three days, according to the Meteorological Department.
The 16th will mark the return of snowfall
The state’s weather will be clear from January 13th to 15th, according to the Meteorological Department, but between January 16th and 18th, snow and rain are again possibilities. The government agency has issued a warning to the public, urging them to exercise caution and stay away from locations with high elevations.
