The weather in Himachal Pradesh is set to change in the next few days. According to the weather department, the weather will be clear on January 9 and 10, but a yellow alert for dense fog has been issued in the plains for these two days. A cold wave warning has also been issued.

The weather will likely change on January 11 and 12, with snowfall expected in the hilly areas and heavy rain in the lower areas. The temperature is expected to drop further during this time, but the weather will be clear again on January 13 and 14.

Meanwhile, the cold wave continues to affect the state. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in seven tribal and hilly areas was recorded below freezing. Tabo in Lahaul-Spiti recorded the lowest temperature at -13.6°C, while other areas like Kukumseri, Samdho, and Kalpa also experienced freezing temperatures. In the plains, the temperature in places like Hamirpur, Mandi, Kangra, and Una was slightly higher, but the cold wave and dense fog still affected daily life. Visibility in Bilaspur was only 50 meters due to thick fog.

While the cold continues in the tribal and hilly areas of Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, and the high-altitude regions of Kullu and Chamba, there was some relief for tourists in Shimla and Manali, where the sun appeared briefly on Wednesday. The sunshine offered a welcome break from the ongoing cold wave.
