Shimla—Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has shared important updates about the state government’s ongoing efforts to create more job opportunities for the people of Himachal Pradesh. Over the past two years, his government has successfully created 13,704 new government jobs and 39,220 opportunities across various sectors. This reflects the government’s strong commitment to addressing unemployment and improving the state’s economy. To further enhance these efforts, CM Sukhu announced plans to digitize the Labour and Employment Department, which will streamline its operations and provide even more opportunities for job seekers.

During a recent review of the department’s activities, CM Sukhu urged officials to make the department fully digital. This includes making information about skilled workers in different fields easily accessible online. The Chief Minister emphasized that this digital transformation is crucial for improving the efficiency of the system and creating more job and self-employment opportunities, especially for the youth of Himachal Pradesh. He stressed the need to implement this initiative without delay, as it would simplify the process for young job seekers and make finding work faster and more transparent.

CM Sukhu also spoke about the Rajiv Gandhi Swarojgar Start-Up Yojna, a program aimed at supporting new entrepreneurs. Under this scheme, the Transport Department has recommended 121 candidates for subsidies to purchase e-taxis. These e-taxis will be connected with government departments, providing owners with a reliable income while supporting the state’s transportation network.
