Shimla, January 06: Jairam Thakur, the former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and current Leader of Opposition, celebrated his 60th birthday on Monday by cutting a massive 60 kg cake at his official residence in Shimla.
The occasion was filled with joy as supporters, karyakartas, and well-wishers gathered to extend their greetings from early morning.

The celebrations included traditional Pahari Naati dance, adding a local cultural touch to the festivities.
During his birthday celebrations, Thakur took a moment to reflect on his life journey. “Now, I have become a senior citizen,” he shared with a smile, expressing his gratitude to God, the deities, and his parents for reaching this stage. He acknowledged the difficult circumstances his parents faced, stating that their struggles had greatly inspired him throughout his life.
Thakur, who has devoted a significant part of his life to social service, reaffirmed his commitment to continuing his work for the betterment of society. “I will keep serving the community in the same way in the future,” he said, adding that he feels deeply honored by the overwhelming love and support from the public.
In his heartfelt message, Thakur thanked the people of Himachal Pradesh for their birthday wishes and for their unwavering affection. He expressed his hope that the public’s blessings would continue to guide him in his ongoing work for the state and the country.
