Shimla, January 04: After a 40-year-long wait, the Bhunda Maha Yagya is being celebrated with immense fervor in the Rohru subdivision of Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh. The grand event has drawn lakhs of devotees from far and wide to witness the much-anticipated religious occasion.

The most significant ritual of the Maha Yagya, scheduled for Saturday, January 4, involves the crossing of a deep ditch by a raft (jedi) carrying Surat Ram, using a rope. However, the ritual faced a brief delay when the rope (munj) broke. Organizers estimate that it will take approximately 2-3 hours to repair the rope, after which Surat Ram will proceed with the challenging ritual.
