Tragic Incident Claims a Life and Leaves Three Others Injured in Shimla District

Shimla, January 02: A tragic road accident occurred near the Nevati Petrol Pump in the Chaupal police station area of Shimla district. An Alto car (registration number HP63E 1929) lost control and plunged off the road, about 4-5 km from Nerwa, around 4:45 to 5:00 pm on Thursday evening.

The incident claimed the life of Saini Ram, a resident of Rohru. Three others in the vehicle, identified as Geeta Ram (49), his wife Rajma Devi (44), and Saroj Devi (37), sustained injuries. They were immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Nerwa for treatment, where doctors confirmed that their conditions were not life-threatening.

According to a police officer, the cause of the accident is still under investigation. Preliminary reports suggest that the car lost control, leading to the tragic incident. All victims of the accident are from the Jubbal and Rohru areas of Shimla district.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
