Shimla, January 02: BJP spokesperson Chetan Singh Bragta has strongly criticized the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government for its failure to keep promises and effectively tackle the rising inflation. Responding to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s recent appeal urging affluent citizens to forgo subsidies, Bragta questioned the government’s ability to fulfill its pre-election pledges.
“Under the BJP government, every family received 125 units of free electricity, but the Congress promised 300 units for each household and has failed to deliver, betraying the public’s trust,” Bragta stated.

He also raised concerns about the increasing costs of essential items under the Public Distribution System (PDS), pointing to soaring prices of petrol and diesel, rising stamp paper costs, higher commercial electricity rates for traders, and increased fees for map approvals.
Bragta accused the Congress government of placing an additional burden on ordinary citizens while promoting self-reliance. “Their policies are weakening the public instead of offering relief,” he remarked.
The BJP spokesperson called on the Congress government to honor its promises, particularly the pledge of 300 units of free electricity, and deliver tangible relief to the people of Himachal Pradesh. “The people need real solutions, not empty gestures,” Bragta concluded.
