Accusations of Political Exploitation and Disrespect Toward National Leaders

Shimla, December 30: BJP leaders Shrikant Sharma, Sanjay Tandon, Dr. Rajiv Bindal, and Siddharthan attended the “Sangathan Parv 2024-25” meeting at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi. The meeting, chaired by BJP National President JP Nadda, also saw the participation of national office bearers and state presidents. The leaders discussed strategies to strengthen the party and received organizational guidelines from the central leadership.

During the meeting, Tandon addressed Congress’s treatment of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, accusing the party of exploiting his death for political gain. He remarked that Congress, under Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, had never truly honored Dr. Singh while he was alive, and now they were doing politics over his demise. Tandon expressed his condemnation of Congress’s low-level political tactics.

Dr. Rajiv Bindal, BJP’s state president, criticized Congress for continuously insulting prominent figures, even after their deaths. He referred to the case of former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, whose last rites were denied a memorial in Delhi by Congress under Sonia Gandhi’s leadership. Bindal reminded that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government that later honored Rao with a Samadhi in 2015 and awarded him the Bharat Ratna in 2024.

Shrikant Sharma, BJP’s in-charge for Himachal Pradesh, took a strong stance against the Gandhi family, accusing them of disrespecting all national leaders except those within their own family. He highlighted instances where leaders like Babasaheb Ambedkar, Rajendra Babu, Sardar Patel, Lal Bahadur Shastri, and even revered figures like Atal Bihari Vajpayee were undermined by Congress. According to Sharma, the Gandhi family never gave due respect to these giants of Indian politics, showing a pattern of favoritism toward their own family members.

The BJP leaders collectively emphasized that the Congress party’s disregard for the dignity of important leaders, including Dr. Manmohan Singh, has led to ongoing criticism from the opposition party.
