Heartbreaking Goodbye: Soldier’s Family Mourns as 4-Year-Old Son Pays Last Tribute
Hamirpur, December 29: A wave of grief has swept through Adarshnagar village in Himachal Pradesh as Army soldier Rinku Kumar, a resident of Putriyal Gram Panchayat, passed away while posted in Assam. His body, wrapped in the tricolor, arrived at his village late on Saturday night, bringing sorrow to his family and the entire community.
Rinku Kumar, who joined the EME Corps of the Indian Army in 2013, had been serving in Assam. Recently, he was hospitalized due to a stomach infection, where he tragically succumbed to his illness. The soldier’s body was brought to his ancestral village on Sunday morning, where it was given full military honors. His comrades in arms offered a final salute to the brave soldier before his 4-year-old son, Ronit, lit the funeral pyre, an emotional moment that left many in tears.

The entire family, including Rinku’s wife and parents, are in deep shock following his untimely passing. The loss has left the village in mourning, as residents gathered to pay their respects. Tehsildar Rohit Kanwar visited the grieving family to offer condolences on behalf of the administration.
Rinku Kumar had recently returned to his duties after a leave of absence. He leaves behind his wife, parents, and young son. The funeral was attended by hundreds of villagers, who paid their last respects, remembering the soldier’s courage and sacrifice with heavy hearts.
