Shimla, December 27: The Municipal Corporation of Shimla has announced the partial postponement of the Winter Carnival 2024, originally set to take place from December 27, 2024, to January 1, 2025, in response to the sad demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

The decision follows government orders in light of the national mourning period.

According to the revised schedule, all planned programs and events for January 2, 2025, will proceed as originally scheduled.

However, all other cultural activities that were part of the carnival will be postponed.

It has also been confirmed that the stalls located on the Ridge will remain operational as usual, allowing local vendors to continue their activities.

The Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Sh. Bhupender Kumar Attri, HAS has requested the understanding and cooperation of all citizens and stakeholders during this period of national mourning.
