Massive Blaze in Byakuan Village Leads to Fatality and Multiple Burn Injuries

Paonta Sahib, December 25: A devastating fire in a junkyard located in Byakuan village has led to the tragic death of a 4-year-old girl and left several others injured. The fire, which broke out in the afternoon, completely engulfed the warehouse, with the girl’s body being recovered late in the evening after an extensive search. The victim has been identified as Kumari Ashmita, daughter of Rajesh Kumar. In addition to the young girl, four women suffered severe burn injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The fire erupted while workers were engaged in their duties at the junkyard. The flames spread rapidly, forcing everyone present to flee for their lives, but little Ashmita became trapped inside the burning structure. Despite efforts from the fire department, who worked tirelessly for over three hours to control the blaze, the girl’s body was only found once the fire had been subdued.

Eyewitnesses reported that the fire’s intensity was so severe that thick smoke filled the entire sky, alarming nearby residents. Fortunately, the incident occurred away from the city, preventing a potentially larger disaster. However, the loss of life and the injuries sustained have deeply affected the local community.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit, though the exact cause is still under investigation. Paonta Sahib DSP Manvendra Thakur confirmed the recovery of the girl’s body and stated that the police have registered a case and are actively working on uncovering the full details of the incident.

The tragedy has shocked the Byakuan village, with locals expressing their sorrow over the loss of the innocent child and praying for the recovery of those injured in the blaze.
