Shimla, December 23: In a major move to enhance healthcare services in Himachal Pradesh, allopathic doctors pursuing postgraduate (PG) courses will now receive their full salary during their study leave. This decision marks a significant increase from the previous 40% salary provided during study leave. The policy is designed to help doctors manage their education while continuing their patient care responsibilities, thereby improving the state’s overall healthcare infrastructure.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu made the announcement today, highlighting the government’s dedication to improving specialized medical services across the state. He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring better healthcare services for the people of Himachal Pradesh.
Under the new policy, doctors will have greater financial stability during their advanced medical studies, removing the financial burdens that might otherwise discourage them from specializing. Sukhu also pointed out that the move would not only enhance the quality of medical training for doctors but also improve the standard of healthcare services provided to the public.
This policy is expected to motivate more doctors to pursue advanced medical qualifications, ultimately strengthening the healthcare system in the state and improving access to specialized care for residents of Himachal Pradesh.
