Vikramaditya Singh: Dharamshala will become a world class tourism city at any cost, the government is keeping an eye on all development works
Dharamshala (Tapovan): PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh has given instructions to complete the important developmental projects going on to change the picture of Dharamshala within the stipulated time and has made them aware of the usefulness of paying special attention to quality. Singh was present in Tapovan Assembly premises on Friday where he chaired an important review meeting in which he checked the report of development works of important projects of Dharamshala Smart City, Municipal Corporation and PWD and reprimanded the officials.

Mayor of Municipal Corporation Dharamshala Neenu Sharma, Principal Secretary Urban Development Devesh Kumar, Director Urban Development Neeraj Kumar, Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa, Municipal Corporation Dharamshala Commissioner Zafar Iqbal and various departmental officials were present in the review meeting. Singh said that the development of Dharamshala is a priority and that changing the image of Dharamshala and making it world class is the priority of the state government in which development will be accelerated only by completing the current projects on time.
In the meeting, Singh directed to complete the important projects of street lights, smart parking and road widening under Smart City Dharamshala on time. He said, “Smart City project is an important chapter in the development of Dharamshala for which all the departments will have to come forward and work.”
While inspecting the project, he also instructed the officials to complete the beautification project going on at the city’s Fountain Chowk on time.
Vikramaditya clearly stated that there will be no shortage of funds in completing the projects and the present government is giving main emphasis on the all-round development of Dharamshala.
He visited Thathri village to review the Sambhar Lahad to Thathri road being built at a cost of three crore rupees under the third phase of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and instructed the officials to bring progress in road construction. Along with this, Vikramaditya Singh also inspected the details of Bhagsunag-Tau-Chaila-Bangotu road constructed at a cost of Rs 6.47 crore funded by NABARD and Darnu-Indranag-Chail road constructed at a cost of Rs 4.34 crore.
He said, “Both the important newly constructed roads will become an important means of smooth traffic movement in Dharamshala and will also open new doors for the tourism sector.”
Singh directed the officials to ensure transparency with the contractor in road construction and take important steps to maintain the quality for a long time.
He described the tourism sector as an important aspect in the development of Dharamshala and while instructing the officials to implement all the government projects on time, he said, “The development of Dharamshala will remain the priority of the state government and in the coming times too, continuous review will be done to monitor all the work.”
