Shimla: In light of the upcoming Winter Carnival starting on December 24, the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has announced extended taxi services until 10 PM for the convenience of visitors in Shimla.
The HRTC management has issued orders to run additional taxis during the carnival period, which will be available on key city routes. Normally, government taxi services operate until 5:30 PM on city routes, with services on the Sanjauli route running until 8:30 PM. However, in response to the evening events planned for the Winter Carnival, the corporation will extend taxi operations to accommodate late-night traffic.
From 2:00 PM onwards, six taxis will operate between Lakkar Bazaar and Sanjauli, while two taxis will be available on the Tutu-Hiranagar-CTO and CTO-Summerhill-CTO routes. Additionally, two taxis will run on the CTO-Chakkar-CTO route. This special service will be available from December 24 and will continue until January 4. Extra taxis will also be added for Christmas (December 25) and New Year’s Eve (December 31) celebrations, and further services may be provided if demand requires.
