Shimla, December 20: The controversy surrounding the guest teacher policy in Himachal Pradesh intensified as the opposition staged a sit-in protest outside the Dharamshala assembly. The protest, led by opposition leaders, came after a wave of dissatisfaction among educated unemployed youth who have expressed concerns over the policy. They demanded the immediate withdrawal of the policy.

The opposition accused the Congress government of failing to deliver on its promises, particularly the assurance of creating two lakh jobs within two years. The opposition claimed that, despite the government’s ongoing rhetoric about providing 30,000 jobs, the recruitment process for these positions had actually been initiated under the previous BJP-led administration.

Leader of the Opposition, Jairam Thakur, criticized the Congress for misleading the youth of the state. He stated that the Congress had gained power through false promises and has yet to fulfill any of its key guarantees.
