The Himachal Pradesh government has launched an initiative to gather suggestions for the upcoming 2025-26 state budget, encouraging participation from the public, businesses, trade associations, and farmers’ groups. This inclusive approach aims to ensure that the budget reflects the needs and concerns of diverse stakeholders, fostering a more transparent and responsive financial planning process.
A government spokesperson announced that individuals and organizations can submit their suggestions by January 31, 2025, through several channels, including email at budgetidea.hp@gmail.com, physical mail to the Principal Secretary (Finance) at the HP Secretariat in Shimla, or via the Finance Department’s dedicated web portal.
The government is particularly seeking input on key areas such as revenue generation strategies, controlling public expenditure, and addressing other critical budgetary issues. Officials highlighted that this participatory method is designed to engage citizens directly in the decision-making process, ensuring that the budget aligns with the priorities of the state’s residents and sectors.
By incorporating these diverse inputs, the Himachal Pradesh government aims to craft a budget that supports economic growth, addresses public concerns, and fosters long-term development across the state.
