Kupvi (Rohru): Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu distributed an amount of Rs. 1500 each to 2,100 eligible women under the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana during his stay in Kupvi in ​​Shimla district. Rs. 4500 each will be deposited in the accounts of these women from January to March. The CM said in a public meeting held here that since this is a backward area, the rules will be changed to give the amount of Rs. 1500 to the women here. Except for the women doing government jobs here, all others will get this amount. Also, the amount will come in the accounts of women every month. Earlier, the CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth crores in the Kupvi area.
The CM said in the public meeting that the government has decided to appoint guest teachers to overcome the shortage of teachers in schools in remote areas. When teachers are transferred or retire from schools in remote areas, the posts of teachers remain vacant in those schools for many days. In such schools, the government has decided to bring a guest teacher policy and authorize the principals to appoint guest teachers, so that the education of the children is not affected. During the assembly elections, the Congress had guaranteed to give Rs 1,500 each to all women above the age of 18 years, which is being given in phases. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reached subdivision Kupvi of Chaupal assembly constituency on Friday and dedicated developmental projects worth Rs 81.23 crores to the people of the area. The Chief Minister stayed in Tikkar village of Kupyon at night. Earlier, during the function organized in Kupvi, the Chief Minister distributed Rs 1500 each to 21,71 eligible women of Kupvi area under Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh-Samman Nidhi Yojana, a total amount of Rs 97,69,500.
Addressing the public at the function, the Chief Minister said that efforts will be made to make Kupvi a separate ward of the District Council. He also announced to provide powers of Executive Engineer to Assistant Engineer of Jal Shakti Department and Public Works Department in Kupvi.
With the Assistant Engineer getting the powers of Executive Engineer, the people of Kupvi will no longer have to go 50 km away to Nerwa and 76 km away to Chaupal to get their work done. He said that opening of ITI in Kupvi will be considered and the foundation stones of the announcements made for the area will be laid soon.

Enjoyed the warmth of fire in Tikkar village: Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Health Minister Dr. Dhaniram Shandil left for Tikkar village from Kupvi rest house at 7:20 pm and stayed overnight at the house of former Zila Parishad member and former Pradhan Hari Singh Pachnaik in Tikkar village. Tikkar, a village in Kupvi, is a remote village with difficult geographical conditions. On reaching Hari Singh’s house at around 7:50 pm, the villagers warmly welcomed the Chief Minister.
