Chief Minister Sukhu discussed the plan to set up a solar power plant in Kupvi
Shimla, December 14: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed the officials to explore the possibility of setting up solar power plants on empty hills in various Gram Panchayats of Kupvi sub-division of Shimla district.
After the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ program in village Tikkar of Kupvi sub-division on December 13, 2024, the Chief Minister discussed in detail with the officials on the developmental needs of the area on Saturday morning. He said that setting up solar power plants in the Kupvi area would also create self-employment opportunities.
Earlier this morning, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu went for a walk in the fields with the children in village Tikkar. He spent time with the children and talked to them about studies and sports etc. The Chief Minister also talked to the children about the resources available in the local schools. After this, the Chief Minister also met the elderly people of the village. The Chief Minister discussed in detail with the senior citizens about the methods of teaching and learning prevalent in his time and the current perspective of education.
The senior citizens appreciated the Chief Minister for increasing the support price of cow milk from Rs. 32 to Rs. 45 and buffalo milk from Rs. 47 to Rs. 55 per kg. The senior citizens said that the purchase of naturally produced maize at Rs. 30 per kg and wheat at Rs. 40 per kg will benefit the people of rural areas. The Chief Minister also discussed with the senior citizens about various measures taken by the government to strengthen the rural economy.
On this occasion, Health Minister Dr. (Colonel) Dhaniram Shandil, Congress leader Rajneesh Khimta, Secretary Social Justice and Empowerment Ashish Singhmar, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi and other dignitaries were present.
