Shimla, 09 December: A devastating road accident occurred in the Rampur subdivision of Shimla district early Monday morning, claiming the lives of two young men and leaving another injured. The incident took place on National Highway near Bera Khad at around 7 AM, when the car, travelling from Duttnagar to Narkanda, lost control and crashed into a hill.

High-Speed Crash Leads to Devastation

The vehicle, a car with registration number HP20G -1010, was reportedly traveling at high speed when the driver lost control while navigating a turn. The vehicle collided with large rocks on the hill side with such force that the front portion of the car was severely damaged.

Local authorities and residents rushed to the scene following the accident. Upon arrival, they discovered that all three occupants of the car were seriously injured. The victims were swiftly transported to the Rampur Hospital for medical treatment, where two were sadly declared dead upon arrival. The deceased were identified as Kaku Singh, aged 26, from Indora, Kangra district, and Raju, aged 21, from Kumarsain, Shimla district. Heroic Rescue Efforts Amid Grief

The third person in the car, identified as Amar, also aged 21, sustained injuries but is reported to be in stable condition and is expected to recover. The local police, along with nearby residents, swiftly began rescue operations and ensured the injured youth received medical attention.

Rampur’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Naresh Sharma, confirmed that the police have registered a case regarding the tragic accident. Following the postmortem, the bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their families for last rites. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing, with authorities examining whether speed, road conditions, or other factors contributed to the tragic event.

This heart-wrenching incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of high-speed driving, especially on winding and narrow hill roads. Authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution, particularly during early morning hours when visibility may be reduced, and road conditions can be unpredictable.
