Shimla, 06 December: The politics of Himachal Pradesh has often been a victim of controversies for some time, whether it is the sensation of the samosa controversy in the state or the cricket controversy that has come to light now, the state government is surrounded in every controversy across the country. More time and money than should be wasted in the welfare policies of the people of the state is being spent in celebrating the completion of two years of tenure. The opposition party of the state has even termed the two-year tenure of the state government as a “celebration of failure”. The state has been grappling with the big problem of financial crisis in the last two years, due to which development work is possible in the state only through central projects and schemes. The pathetic condition of medical facilities is less than described. Similarly, the posts of principals are lying vacant in major schools of many districts. The Congress government, which came to power by promising to give one lakh jobs, has been able to do development work only on paper. Whether it is the promise of giving Rs 1500 per month to the women of the state or the promise of systematic implementation of (OPS; Old Pension Scheme), the beneficiaries have not been benefited in all the promises. Yes, it is true that the state government still has three years of its tenure left and the ministers and officers of the government have enough time to rectify these mistakes or the implementation of the schemes. But despite not being able to bring the financial situation back on track in two years, the government is busy celebrating in the presence of many big leaders of the National Congress on 11 December in Bilaspur, the home district of the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Jagat Prakash Nadda. Is it unable to understand its failures or is it baking its own political bread without caring about time?

Were even two out of the ten guarantees fulfilled properly?

The people of entire Himachal Pradesh know the answer to this question that even after the implementation of the schemes, especially in rural and remote areas, the benefits are not being received. Only the forms have been filled and submitted, but after that, one will be surprised to see the figures of how many have been able to get the benefit. The state government does gradually bring up the issue of developmental reforms, but due to the mutual debates among the Congress leaders of the state, it does not take much time for the whole matter to fall apart.

Focus of the state leaders on privatization

Despite the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) being in loss, the demand for not privatizing it has been raised for a long time, but the state leaders first assure the public and representatives that they will not privatize it, but later it is announced that instead of booking hotels from the official website of the state’s HPTDC, companies like Make My Trip are being benefited. Not only this, companies like Ambuja Cement are definitely entering the state in the name of plastic waste, but these companies will capture the major properties of the state in the coming times and then the state government will keep making rounds of the court, a big example of this is the Wild Flower Hall being run by the Oberoi Group which has captured the property of the state.

Cricket controversy after samosa controversy

Before the inauguration of ‘Sadbhavna Cricket Tournament’ by the Chief Minister of the state, whose main objective is to create awareness among the youth of the state about drug abuse in the society, rigorous practice is being done in the playground of BCS School Shimla as if the Chief Minister himself is participating in this competition. Earlier, on 21st October, during a program organized at the CID headquarters, samosas and cakes were ordered for CM Sukhu from a five star hotel located in Lakkar Bazaar, Shimla, but instead of serving these refreshments to CM Sukhu, serving them to his employees created a big controversy, which was even investigated by the CID, which shows that instead of solving the major issues of the people of the state, the state government is getting a small matter like samosa investigated.

So, will the ‘cricket controversy’ take the form of a controversy in the state after seeing the video of CM Sukhu practicing in the nets or will it remain a normal issue, the truth of this will be revealed to everyone in the coming days.
