Kullu: National Adventure Camp is going on in Pirdi, 70 youth are being trained in rafting center
Kullu, 05 December: These days NSS volunteers in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh are getting training to rescue people of their respective states from natural disasters.
Seventy youths from across the country are being trained in rescue at the River Rafting Center in Pirdi, Kullu.
Youths from Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Puducherry, Karnataka and Jharkhand are participating in this ten-day training program being run through the National Service Scheme.
Gimner, a trainer working at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Mountaineering Institute, said that all the youths who have come to the center are being trained in swimming in flowing water, rescue through kayaking and mountain climbing techniques.
The youths who have come to participate in the camp said that here they are getting an opportunity to meet participants from different states. They are getting an opportunity to work in relief and rescue activities in the clean environment of Kullu.
They are learning activities related to disaster and this experience will be very useful to them in helping people in future disasters.
