Tragic Gas Cylinder Explosion in Baddi Claims Life of Young Girl, Two Injured

Solan, November 12: A heart-wrenching incident occurred in Bhatoli Kalan, Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, on Monday morning when a cooking gas cylinder exploded due to a gas leak. The explosion caused severe damage, leading to the collapse of two rooms in a house. Tragically, a seven-year-old girl lost her life after being trapped under the debris, while two others sustained injuries. The injured have been taken to ESI Hospital in Katha for medical treatment.

Explosion Caused by Gas Leak

According to initial investigations, the gas leak in the household caused the room to fill with cooking gas, which eventually triggered the devastating explosion at around 4 AM. At the time of the explosion, the family—consisting of the husband and wife, their two daughters, and a brother—were all asleep in the room. The blast was so powerful that it led to the collapse of two rooms, causing severe trauma to the occupants.

Rescue Operations and Immediate Response

Upon receiving the distress call, local police and emergency teams quickly arrived at the scene to carry out rescue operations. The search for survivors amidst the rubble was challenging, but rescue teams were able to retrieve the victims. The authorities confirmed that the young girl was found dead under the debris, while the two injured individuals were promptly taken to the nearby hospital for treatment. The injured victims are reported to be in stable condition.

The police, led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ashok Verma, have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the gas leak and explosion. “We are thoroughly investigating the incident, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings,” said ASP Ashok Verma, confirming the details of the incident.
