Kumud Sharma, Diary Times: Despite the assurance given by the state’s Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the troubles of the people of Hamirpur district are not reducing as the notice of closure of Bhota Charitable Hospital is stuck on its gate. CM Sukhu had said that it has been decided to hand over Bhota Charitable Hospital to the associate institution of Radha Swami Satsang Beas and soon an ordinance will be renewed for the process of hospital transfer.

In the capital, CM Sukhu, while talking to the journalist, said that Radha Swami Satsang Beas Hospital has decided to transfer its land to its associate institution, but due to various legal hurdles under the Land Transfer Act, the transfer is not possible. Let us tell you that Bhota Charitable Hospital has been providing free treatment to the poor living in a small district like Hamirpur for years, now the difficulties of the residents are increasing due to the notice of closure.

The CM had assured that an ordinance would be introduced in the upcoming winter session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly to make the transfer process possible under the Land Transfer Act.

The CM further said that if needed, amendments can be considered in the Land Transfer Act so that this transfer can be made possible and in the coming times too, Bhota Charitable Hospital will continue to ensure the service of the public by operating medical facilities through its institution.

Even after the assurances of CM Sukhu, the notice pasted on the gate of Bhota Charitable Hospital regarding the closure has put the local communities of Bhota into thinking about the condition of the hospital. Bhota Charitable Hospital of Hamirpur district has been a major health center for the people of the district for years, but with the news of closure, the district and local communities may have to wait for the winter session of the Assembly for the next decision of the state government to amend the Transfer Act.
