Dehra Assembly to Become Himachal's Most Developed Constituency with Rs 300 Crore in Development Projects under MLA Kamlesh Thakur

Kumud Sharma, Diary Times: Expressing confidence in fulfilling the developmental aspirations of the people, Kamlesh Thakur, the newly elected MLA of Dehra and wife of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, assured the locals of significant progress in the region. While interacting with residents of Gram Panchayat Bankhandi and Kallar in Dehra constituency on Monday, Kamlesh Thakur stated, “In the coming years, Dehra will emerge as one of the most developed assembly constituencies in Himachal Pradesh. This is due to the personal attention and oversight of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who is closely monitoring the developmental projects for Dehra and regularly receiving updates from the concerned department officials.”

Kamlesh Thakur stated that in the recently concluded Dehra assembly by-elections, the people of the region had shown their trust in the Sukhu government by electing her as their representative.

She emphasized that this strong mandate has led to significant progress, with development works worth approximately Rs 300 crore being initiated in the Dehra assembly constituency within just six months of the by-election results. Kamlesh Thakur expressed her commitment to ensuring that these projects bring lasting benefits to the people of Dehra and contribute to the overall development of the area.

Kamlesh Thakur expressed that the state government’s commitment to initiating development projects worth Rs 300 crore within just six months reflects a strong determination to elevate the progress of the Dehra assembly constituency. She emphasized that this swift action underscores the government’s dedication to ensuring rapid and comprehensive development in the region, aiming to bring Dehra to new heights of growth and prosperity.

Kamlesh Thakur further stated that development projects worth Rs 300 crore have been launched in the Dehra assembly constituency, covering key areas such as roads, water supply, electricity, health, education, and tourism. She highlighted that the Sukhu government is not only focusing on large-scale infrastructure development but is also dedicated to addressing the everyday challenges faced by the people. Kamlesh Thakur assured the locals that the government is actively working to improve their quality of life by resolving pressing issues and ensuring better services in all sectors.

Kamlesh Thakur Assures Development in Dehra Constituency

During her visit to the Dehra assembly constituency, Kamlesh Thakur addressed the concerns raised by local public representatives, who requested the construction of a Primary Health Centre (PHC) building in Bankhandi. Kamlesh Thakur assured them that the necessary funds would be allocated soon to begin the project. She also informed the public about the initiation of a 33 KV substation in Haripur, which will be connected to Bankhandi, resolving the long-standing electricity issues in the Gram Panchayat. Additionally, she directed the officials of the Jal Shakti Department to ensure the provision of water connections to the crematorium in Mayol Panchayat within two months. Kamlesh Thakur emphasized that her primary focus is to complete development works worth Rs 5 to 7 lakhs in every Panchayat of Dehra Assembly by March 2025.

Kamlesh Thakur Addresses Public Concerns in Dehra Constituency

During her stay in the Dehra Assembly constituency, Kamlesh Thakur took the time to listen to the concerns of the local residents in Bankhandi and Kallar Gram Panchayat. She was able to resolve most of the issues raised by the public on the spot, demonstrating her commitment to addressing their needs.

Upon her arrival in Bankhandi, Pradhan Vijay Kumar of the Gram Panchayat warmly welcomed Kamlesh Thakur by presenting her with a chunari and a photo of Mata Baglamukhi. After the warm reception, Kamlesh Thakur visited the Mata Baglamukhi temple to pay her respects, further connecting with the local community and their cultural traditions.

During this visit, several key officials and local leaders were present, including Haripur Tehsildar Suresh Kumar, DFO Dehra Sunny Verma, Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department Suresh Walia, Executive Engineer of the Water Power Department Anish Thakur, as well as Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Bankhandi Vijay Kumar, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Kallar Surendra Parashar, and Panchayat members Neelam Kumar, Raj Kumar, Joginder Singh, Pushpendra Sharma, Indrajit, along with other dignitaries.

Their presence highlighted the collaborative efforts being made to address the developmental needs of the Dehra constituency.
