Brijlal Thakur elected President and Roop Chand Sharma General Secretary in Himachal Transport Retired Employees Welfare Forum’s triennial elections

Bilaspur, November 22: The triennial election of Himachal Transport Retired Employees Welfare Forum was held in Ghumarwin, in which a new executive was formed unanimously. These elections were held under the chairmanship of Karma Singh Thakur and Subhash Chand. The old executive was dissolved and Brijlal Thakur was elected President and Roop Chand Sharma was elected General Secretary.

The newly elected state president Brijlal Thakur pledged to make continuous efforts for the interests of the employees. He appealed to the government to fulfill the pending demands soon. He said that the retired employees have not yet received the pay scale and pension benefits approved since 2016. Along with this, prompt payment of arrears of financial benefits, gratuity, leave encashment, dearness allowance and medical bills should be ensured.

Brijlal Thakur also said that retired employees who have completed the age of 65, 70 and 75 years should be given 5%, 10% and 15% pension hike on revised pension immediately. He condemned the repressive policies of the government and stood with the secretariat employees and assured to stand firmly in their support. The forum demanded immediate action from the government on all pending demands.
