‘Milan Karyakram’ Held at Raj Bhavan to Celebrate Foundation Day of Uttarakhand and Jharkhand with Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla emphasized that celebrating state foundation days at Raj Bhavans fosters the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ and strengthens connections among people.
Shimla, 21 November: A ‘Milan Karyakram’ was organised at Raj Bhavan for citizens of Uttarakhand and Jharkhand residing in Himachal Pradesh. This programme was organised to commemorate the foundation day of these states held recently. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Lady Governor Janaki Shukla were present on this occasion.
On this occasion, the Governor said that the Government of India has started the tradition of celebrating the foundation day of states in Raj Bhavans, which is a symbol of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ and the aim of this programme is to connect people.
He said that we should not forget our values and neither should we turn our back on development. He said that we can save our culture only by carrying both values and development together. He said that Uttarakhand is also called Devbhoomi, but the sanctity of the religious places here should be maintained. He said that it is not appropriate for our culture to make religious places picnic spots.
On this occasion, Director General of Police Atul Verma belonging to Jharkhand state shared his experiences.
Additional Chief Secretary K.K. Pant was also present on the occasion and expressed his views on the rich culture of Uttarakhand state.
The Governor honoured all the guests by presenting them Himachali cap and shawl. Secretary to Governor CP Verma and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
