Himachal Pradesh Government to Introduce New Compassionate Employment Policy for Families of Deceased Service Personnel
New Compassionate Employment Policy: State Government to Offer Jobs to Widows and Orphans on Compassionate Grounds.
Shimla, November 18: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, while chairing a high-level meeting here today, said that the state government is considering making a new compassionate employment policy. He said that the state government is working with a liberal and sympathetic approach to provide employment to people who lost their family members during service.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to compile and submit department-wise details of the applicants. He said that the state government will take appropriate decision keeping in mind all aspects to benefit maximum number of applicants. He said that the state government is committed to the welfare of dependents by giving priority to widows and orphans in providing employment on compassionate grounds. The Chief Minister said that the present state government has taken several steps for the welfare of government employees.
In the first cabinet meeting, the state government has restored the old pension scheme for all government employees so that they can lead a respectable life after retirement. He said that within two years of the government, 11 per cent dearness allowance has been given to all government employees and pensioners.
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary Finance Devesh Kumar, Secretary M. Sudha Devi, Rakesh Kanwar and Secretary Law Sharad Kumar Lagwal were also present in the meeting.
