Shimla, November 17: After the Sanjauli mosque dispute, now there is a dispute over the Ram Krishna Mission temple in Shimla where around 1 o’clock late Saturday night, there was a fierce fight, vandalism and stone pelting between Brahmo Samaj and Ramkrishna Mission to capture the temple. Police was seen as a silent spectator. More than half a dozen people have been injured in the stone pelting. Police has registered two FIRs whose investigation is going on.

The people of Ram Krishna Mission are of the view that the gardener of the temple, a Congress leader and some other people are trying to capture the temple, whereas Brahmo Samaj has given the temple to Ramkrishna Mission for religious purposes in 2014 and the matter is also pending in the Supreme Court, but under the protection of the Congress government, an attempt was made to capture the temple late night and stones were pelted in the temple in which some people have been injured. A Congress leader was also involved in the stone pelting and the police kept watching everything as a silent spectator.

Actually, late at night, people of Brahmo Samaj had reached there to worship and meditate, while people of Ram Krishna Mission were also present there. First there was sloganeering from both sides, then they started protesting and later there was stone pelting on each other. The protesters have accused the managers of the ashram of occupying the property, after which the atmosphere became very tense. MR Sangaroli, trustee of the other faction of Brahmo Samaj, said that the property belongs to Brahmo Samaj and the people of Ram Krishna Mission have occupied it.

At the same time, the police calmed down the dispute late at night and drove away the protesters and started investigating the matter. SP Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi said that the police has registered two FIRs in the case and has also identified some of the people who pelted stones. This kind of stone pelting in the temple cannot be tolerated. The matter is being said to be of property dispute and the matter is to be heard in the Supreme Court on January 28.
