Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Purchases ‘Doharu’ and Walnuts at Lavi Mela
The Chief Minister stopped at a stall of handicraft products and dry fruits. He obtained information about the products from the woman vendor and purchased one kilogram of walnuts and a Doharu (woolen blanket). The Chief Minister paid Rs 8,000 for the blanket and Rs 900 for the walnuts through Google Pay.
Shimla, November 15: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu made purchases worth Rs 8,900 at the Lavi Mela in Rampur, Shimla late Thursday evening. After attending the closing ceremony of the International Lavi Mela, the Chief Minister inspected various exhibition stalls set up on the occasion.

Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the state government is promoting handloom products, which are not only trade items but also a symbol of the rich culture of the state. He said fairs like Lavi are not only festivals but also symbols of brotherhood and goodwill having centuries old history.
He said the state government is making continuous efforts to strengthen the rural economy and many initiatives have been taken in this regard in the last two years and there are plans to give more impetus to these efforts in future.
