Korean-based automobile manufacturer Hyundai recently made headlines with the announcement of its initial public offering (IPO). The brand is also looking to make a strong presence in the electric vehicle segment, as it is reported to be working on an electric version of its best-selling SUV, the Creta. After the Kona Electric and the Ioniq 5, the brand is reportedly working on bringing its third EV installment for the Indian market. It is also being said that the upcoming model could come equipped with some interesting features and specifications. Expected Launch Timeline and Competition of Creta EV
As per the report, Hyundai is hoping to start manufacturing the battery-powered Creta by the end of 2024. The car is expected to hit the Indian market in the first quarter of 2025.
Competitors of the Hyundai Creta are expected to include compact C-segment electric SUVs and crossovers such as the Tata Curve EV, MG ZS EV and the Windsor EV. Apart from this, the company might also face some competition from upcoming EV models such as the Maruti Suzuki EVX and its Toyota sibling and the Mahindra BE6e.
Expected Exterior of Creta EV
The Hyundai Creta EV is expected to resemble its ICE-powered counterpart. The upcoming model might feature a distinctive jewel-themed grille, twin LED DRLs and dual-projector LED headlamps with a split lighting setup, similar to what we have seen on the standard version of the Creta. Apart from this, the car is also reported to have dual-tone machine-cut 17-inch alloy wheels.

Going by the recently spied pictures of the car, its interiors appear to be similar to its ICE-powered counterpart. According to Cardekho.com, the car is expected to have a twin-screen setup, which could include a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment. The Hyundai Creta EV could also have a unique drive selector, which could be mounted on the steering column.
Possible powertrains of the Creta EV
Speculations suggest that the car is expected to have a 45kWh battery similar to the entry-level Kona EV. It could offer a driving range of around 450km with 138 bhp and 255 Nm of torque.
