Chaupal: Car falls into 400 meter deep gorge, 3 die tragically

The deceased have been identified as Mukesh Kumar (32), son of Bhag Chand Dochi, Parikshit Bharti (32), son of Parjeet, Tehsil Jubbal, Shimla and Vinod Kumar (32), son of Chatru, Tehsil Jubbal, Shimla. The families of the deceased have been given immediate relief of Rs 25,000.

Chaupal, October 16: A tragic accident has come to light last night in Chaupal subdivision of Shimla, where three people died on the spot due to an Alto car crash.

According to the information, the Alto car (HP 10C 0476) was coming from Sarah Mudanh Lani towards Lihat (Pulbahal). Meanwhile, about 4 kilometers ahead of Mudanh, near Lihat drain, the car went out of control and fell into a 400 meter deep gorge.

During the accident, there were three people in the car who died on the spot. The police was informed about the accident by the local people. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and the bodies were taken to Civil Hospital Chaupal for postmortem.

The deceased have been identified as Mukesh Kumar (32), son of Bhag Chand Dochi, Parikshit Bharti (32), son of Parjeet, Tehsil Jubbal, Shimla and Vinod Kumar (32), son of Chatru, Tehsil Jubbal, Shimla. The families of the deceased have been given immediate relief of Rs 25,000.

Investigating officers confirmed that three people have died in the accident. Their bodies will be handed over to their families after post-mortem. A case has been registered and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
