First launched in 2020, the Nissan Magnite has received a mid-life facelift and the good news is that its starting price remains the same as the current model, with the base variant priced at ₹ 5.99 lakh and the top-spec variant priced at ₹ 11.50 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The prices are introductory and will be applicable only for the first 10,000 deliveries, after which the prices will increase. There are no changes to the Magnite in terms of engine options and specifications, but there are significant changes to the interior and exterior design of the sub-compact SUV.
Nissan has completely revamped the nomenclature of the trims for the Magnite facelift. Below are the variant-wise prices.
The front end of the new model features a bigger, bolder grille with a thick chrome border and gloss black inserts. The L-shaped DRLs have been retained from the previous model. The front bumper is also new, along with integrated fog lamps and the design of the 16-inch alloy wheels is new. The profile of the SUV remains largely the same with functional roof-rails that can bear a weight of up to 50 kg. The rear section is similar to the outgoing model, with LED taillights.
Talking about the updates on the inside, the Magnite facelift features all-leatherette upholstery with a segment-first 360 leather pack. The layout remains the same as before. Nissan claims that the Magnite now has best-in-class cabin storage of 19 litres, along with an increased boot space from 336 litres to 540 litres with a standard 60:40 split.
Nissan claims that the Magnite facelift comes with 20+ features, including some segment-best features like continuous ambient lighting, plasma cluster air ionizer, global smart key, bezel-less auto-dimming IRVM and full LED exterior pack. The SUV also gets a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Nissan will also offer a tech pack that includes a wireless charger, dashcam, JBL speakers, LED scuff plates and puddle lamps.
The Magnite facelift will continue to get the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, both models will get a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbo petrol gets an X-CVT auto while the naturally aspirated model gets the option of an AMT auto. Safety features on the new Magnite include 6 airbags, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), traction control, hill start assist, hydraulic brake assist, anti-lock brakes and tyre pressure monitoring system.
The new Nissan Magnite facelift will be manufactured at the Alliance plant in Chennai and will be sold in India as well as exported to over 65 global markets. The Magnite competes with the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and its sibling Renault Kiger.
