The police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation into the fraud case involving QFX Tech Service in Kunihar in Solan district. Dozens of local residents have been allegedly duped of Rs 50 lakh in the scam, with several victims hoping for justice as the authorities begin their investigation.

According to the complaints filed, people in Kunihar were lured into investing huge sums of money by promising seven per cent returns on deposits. The company, called QFX Tech Service, operates under the banner of QFX Trade Ltd, headquartered in Zirakpur, Punjab. Two local persons – an ex-serviceman from a nearby village and an employee of a private school – allegedly persuaded residents to invest in the company, assuring them of high returns.

The local agents allegedly used their bank passbooks to show their own gains from the company, prompting others to invest as well. Many people deposited lakhs of rupees believing that their money was safe. However, when investors began demanding their returns, the agents allegedly delayed payments despite repeated assurances. It was later revealed that the company owner had fled to Dubai and the office of QFX Tech Service was sealed.

The victims approached the police, who have since registered a case and begun their investigation. DSP Ashok Chauhan confirmed that the matter is being investigated and the police are working to uncover the full extent of the scam. There are concerns that this fraud could be like other large-scale scams that have taken place in the mandi, with potential losses running into crores of rupees.
