Una, September 15: After drinking alcohol from the compound near Rampur bridge, a drunk Subedar took someone else’s car home. The matter was revealed when the real owner of the car kept searching for the car for a long time and lodged a complaint with the police. The police reached the spot after the complaint and found out that a person who had gone to drink alcohol in the compound took another person’s car by mistake, after which the police reached the house and gave the car to the real owner.

According to the information, on Saturday night, Haroli police station received information that a car has been stolen from a compound near Rampur bridge. On receiving the information, a police team reached near Rampur bridge, where a complainant told that he had come to the compound near the liquor shop to drink alcohol. There he parked his car WagonR outside and went inside to drink alcohol. When he came out after half an hour, his car had been stolen from there. The police tried to search the cameras nearby.

During this time, an Alto car was found parked at the spot, whose owner was not found. When the address was found and contacted, the car turned out to be of a Subedar Sahib of Una, who had reached his home, but had left his Alto car outside the compound and instead of taking his own car, he took the car of another drunkard (complainant) to his home thinking it to be his own. The police have let off both the alcohol-loving persons by scolding them.

Haroli Police Station Incharge Sunil Sankhyan said that the case had not been registered yet. Otherwise the Subedar would have had to visit the lock-up. Haroli Police had brought the Subedar’s car to the police station. Later the Subedar came and apologized and got his car released, who was let off by the police after warning them.
