Una, August 26: Unknown masked men attacked three farmers carrying vegetables with swords in Palakwah under Haroli police station. The three farmers escaped unhurt in the attack done with the intention of looting and have lodged a complaint with Haroli police. The police has also started an investigation into the matter.
According to the information, on Monday morning, farmers of Pubowal and Thakaran villages were going to Una market on a two-wheeler with vegetables. Jeet Kumar, a resident of Thakaran, said that six masked youths riding on two motorcycles stopped him near the Shiva temple built on the climb of Palakwah. One of these youths tried to rob him by waving a sword. A masked youth also checked my purse. When he did not find anything in the purse, he let me go. Meanwhile, Purna Singh of Pubowal village, who was coming behind, was also stopped on the road. Purna Singh sensed their intentions and as soon as he started his bike, a youth attacked him with a sword.
Thankfully, he was saved from the sword. Shortly after, Harjinder Singh of Thakaran village was also carrying vegetables, and they also tried to rob him by blocking his way, but he too somehow managed to escape. In this regard, SHO Haroli Sunil Kumar said that a complaint has been received in this regard. Investigation has been started on it. Footage of CCTV cameras installed at various places is being scrutinized.
