Mandi: Smuggling of 2.43 kg of hashish in Alto car exposed, two arrested

Mandi, August 23: In Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, the team of Sarkaghat police station has arrested two smugglers with two and a half kg of hashish. The police has taken this action on the basis of secret information. Last night, the team of Sarkaghat police station, under the leadership of ASI Rajendra Kumar, set up a check post near Chandruhi on the border of Mandi-Hamirpur district on the basis of secret information.

At 2 o’clock in the night, the police team stopped two people in an Alto car for search. 2 kg 43 grams of hashish was recovered during the search. The police has arrested the accused and registered a case under the NDPS Act and started investigation.

The accused have been identified as Sanjeev Kumar alias Praveen resident of Sarkaghat and Ashish Sharma alias Ashu resident of Hamirpur. SP Mandi Sakshi Verma has confirmed the case.

She said that from where were the accused bringing such a huge consignment of hashish and where was this consignment to be supplied is a matter of investigation. Soon after presenting both the accused in the court, police remand will be obtained and further investigation will be done.
