Una, August 19: A person died of electric shock in Ghanari village of subdivision Gagret. It is being told that when the deceased was sitting on the roof of a shop with his friend on Saturday night, he heard the sound of a vehicle horn and as soon as he got up to look, he got a strong shock as soon as he caught hold of the railing of the shop’s roof and fell down. No one knew anything at that time.

However, he was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state. Where the doctors declared him dead. After the post-mortem of the deceased, the cause of his death was told to be electric shock. The deceased was a teacher by profession.

Initial investigation done by Gagret police revealed that a youth of Ghanari village had called the teacher late in the evening. Both the friends sat on the roof of a shop and arranged a party. Meanwhile, suddenly the sound of a vehicle horn came from below the shop. Due to which the teacher got up to see who was in the vehicle. As soon as he touched the iron railing on the shop’s roof, he got electrocuted and fell unconscious. His friend and shopkeeper immediately took him to the hospital. Here the doctors declared him dead.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, Gagret police registered a case of death due to unknown reasons and sent the body to the regional hospital for postmortem. After the postmortem on Sunday, the doctors initially declared the cause of death as electric shock. DSP Dr. Vasudha Sood has confirmed the case.
