Shimla, August 18: Recently, a good news came for tiger lovers from Gwalior Zoo of Madhya Pradesh, where a female tigress gave birth to three cubs. Similarly, there is a heart-melting news from Dalhousie, a tourist place in Himachal Pradesh. Here a female bear presented a living example of mother’s love. But that love became a victim of human mistake. Also, she became independent from the world along with her child on the day of independence.

By losing her own life, she also informed humans that their lives can also be in danger from the transformer. A small bear was walking happily with his mother, during this time he suddenly climbed on a high voltage electrical transformer. As soon as he climbed the pole, he got electrocuted. Seeing the cub in pain, the female bear could not stop herself. She did not even think for a moment that climbing up could be a danger to her life. While trying to save the cub, the female bear also got electrocuted. Both of them died due to this.

On the morning of 16th August, both were brought down from the pole in a dead state. It was not easy to bring down the bodies of the female bear and her cub hanging on the transfer. With great difficulty, the bodies were taken for postmortem. The Wildlife Department formed a committee as per the rules.

Dead female bear and cubs

The big question is whether there was negligence in the transfer of electricity or not but there should be no doubt that if barbed wire fence had been made around the transformer then these two voiceless creatures would not have lost their lives like this, no one is going to demand justice for them by taking out a candle march. Two wild animals lost their lives due to human error on Dalhousie’s Kathlag road. The accident happened late at night on 15th August when the female bear was passing through Kathlag road with her cub. DFO Dalhousie Rajneesh Mahajan believes that food items are not disposed of properly and that is why wild animals turn towards cities and human settlements.
