Solan: Two youths arrested in a car with 7.24 grams of chitta

Solan, August 17: Solan police is continuously active to crack down on drug smuggling in the district. The special investigation team of the police achieved significant success during patrolling in the Dharmpur police station area. The police received secret information that two youths are riding in an Alto K10 car with temporary number, which is coming from Parwanoo towards Dharmpur. These youths were accused of being involved in the business of chitta.
On the basis of information, the special team of police blocked the road near Muqaam Toll Plaza Sanwara. During the blockade, the Alto car coming from the direction of Parwanoo was stopped and it was checked. The two youths riding in the car were identified as Gaurav Kumar (21) and Harvinder Mehra (24). Gaurav Kumar is a resident of Bathol village, Dharmpur and Harvinder Mehra is a resident of Tunnel No. 24, Naun village.
During the investigation, 7.24 grams of heroin was recovered from the car. After this, both the accused were arrested and a case was registered against them under sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Dharmpur police station. During the investigation of the case, the car was also seized.
Gaurav and Harvinder are being questioned intensively and their previous criminal activities are being investigated. The accused have been kept in police custody for four days. Meanwhile, the police is continuing the detailed investigation of the case and is intensifying its action against drug trafficking.
