Shimla: Employees disappointed due to non-receipt of DA and arrears, will open front against the government

Shimla, August 17: Employees are disappointed with the Chief Minister not announcing the DA and arrears of the employees on August 15. Now the employees are preparing to open a front against the government. Especially the secretariat employees are going to hold a general house on August 21 in which the future strategy will be prepared. Regarding this, a meeting was held by the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat Services Employees Union on Saturday.

After the meeting, the President of the Union, Sanjeev Thakur said that on August 15, the employees had great expectations from the Chief Minister, but the Chief Minister announced neither DA nor arrears, due to which there is a lot of disappointment among the employees. In the era of rising inflation, it has become difficult for the employees to survive. Dearness Allowance is pending since January 1, 2023, regarding this, the people of the union also met Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on August 12 and requested to give four percent installment of DA. But the Chief Minister did not mention anything on 15th August due to which the employees are disappointed.

He said that apart from this, many posts of employees are vacant in the secretariat due to which it is becoming difficult to work and these are also not being filled. He also said that till now the offices of the ministers were in the old building but two ministers are spending lakhs of rupees on their office in the new building whereas there was no need for this.

He also said that a General House has been called in the secretariat on 21st August in which the future strategy will be prepared. He also called upon other employee organizations to unite and come on one platform so that pressure can be put on the government to release the arrears and dearness allowance.
