Shimla, August 15: State level Independence Day celebrations were organized at Shaheed Bhuvnesh Dogra Ground in Dehra, Himachal Pradesh. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu hoisted the national flag tricolor at 11:00 am and took the salute of the march past while inspecting the grand parade. Contingents of Police, Home Guard, NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides took part in this parade.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Sukhu said that the government has received revenue of more than 2200 crores in a single year through policy decisions, due to which the economic condition of the state is gradually coming back on track. He also said that the government stands firmly with the disaster affected families and a disaster relief package will be announced after the rains end for their rehabilitation.

He informed that in this financial year, full arrears will be provided to pensioners of 75 years and family pensioners. Along with this, pending liabilities of employees will also be paid in a phased manner in the coming years.

The Chief Minister announced to provide a support amount of one thousand rupees per month to the children of widowed, destitute, divorced and disabled parents of the state till the age of 18 years under Sukh Shiksha Yojana. Apart from this, free education will be provided to these children till PhD. If they do not get hostel, they will be given three thousand rupees per month to stay in PG.

The claims of Pong Dam displaced people will be settled on priority basis. Apart from this, 10 to 15 thousand inheritance cases before the implementation of GST will also be resolved. The CM has also announced the opening of Superintending Engineer Office and BMO Office of Electricity Board and Jal Shakti Department in Dehra. All these schemes and announcements are important steps for the welfare of the citizens of the state.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister wished the people of the state a Happy Independence Day and reiterated the government’s commitment to the development of the state.
