Nahan, August 13: Sirmaur Police, along with the team of Women Police Station Nahan and AHTU, conducted an important operation during patrolling in Simbalwala-Khairwala Dosarka area. Police had received secret information that drug trafficking activities are going on in the area. Acting on this, the police arrested two youths riding a bike (HP18A-9101) and recovered 6.7 grams of narcotic substance heroin from their possession.
The arrested youths have been identified as Mohnish Khan, resident of 379/1, Satsang Bhawan, Ramkundi, Nahan and Manish alias Monu, resident of Dhabon Mohalla, Nahan. A case has been registered in this matter under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Kala Amb.
Additional Superintendent of Police Yogesh Rolta confirmed the case and said that further investigation is underway. This action of the police has strengthened the campaign being run against drug abuse and it will help in controlling the smuggling of illegal drugs in the area.
It is worth mentioning that in the last two-three months, Nahan police has succeeded in curbing the activities of the big fishes of the drug trade by arresting them.
