Induction program for newly admitted students in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Central University

Shimla, August 13: The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Central University of Himachal Pradesh organized an induction program for the newly admitted MA (Journalism and Mass Communication) students of the 2024-2026 batch at the Seminar Hall of the Dhauladhar Campus-I of the University.

The Chief Guest of the induction program was Dean Academics Prof. Pradeep Kumar. He emphasized the importance of planning for the future for the students and encouraged them to take full advantage of the opportunities available at the University. He presented an overview of the functioning of Central University of Himachal Pradesh, its policies, procedures and culture. Apart from this, he also informed the budding journalists about the functioning of the media industry and the wide opportunities it offers.

The program began with the welcome address by Dr. Archana Katoch, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. She informed the students about the course and the academic activities associated with it. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Harsh Mishra, who expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest, faculty members and all those present.

The Dean of the school Dr. RP Rai along with faculty members Dr. Harsh Mishra, Harikrishnan Bhaskaran, Prof. Aditya Kant and Dr. Monika were also present in the program.
