Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania and former MLA Harbhajan Singh Bhajji were also present with the Chief Minister.
While wishing the Minjar Fair all the best, he said that due to adverse weather he could not personally attend the closing ceremony of the Minjar Fair. He appreciated the efforts of the people of the area and the administration for the successful organization of the Minjar Fair. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the state’s first green hydrogen based mobility station in Chamba. He said that this station will pave the way for the state in the green hydrogen mobility sector. This ambitious green initiative of the state government will be constructed by the National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) at an estimated cost of Rs 14 crore and the project is expected to be completed by August, 2025.
The Chief Minister said that the project will be set up near NHPC Chamera-3 Power Station and will be connected to a 300 kW grid solar power plant to meet the energy requirements. The plant will produce 20 kg of green hydrogen per day and will be stored at a pressure of 450 bar or more for filling the green hydrogen bus.
Apart from this, a hydrogen dispenser unit will also be installed for bus facility. He said that through this new initiative, green hydrogen buses will be introduced for the first time in the region and this innovative initiative of the state government will help in spreading awareness about green hydrogen in the remote areas of India. In this context, NHPC has started the tender process for the purchase of a green hydrogen bus for Chamba, so that its availability can be ensured when the pilot project starts.
The Chief Minister said that the launch of this project would generate revenue and employment opportunities in Chamba district and would ensure contribution to the economic development of the state. He said that to achieve the target of establishing Himachal Pradesh as a green energy state by March 31, 2026, the present state government is ensuring proper exploitation of green energy options and green energy industries are also being promoted.
