Himachal has started moving rapidly in the world of ropeways. The world’s second longest ropeway of 13.79 km is going to be built in Shimla at a cost of 1734.40 crores. Himachal Pradesh has rapidly made its mark in the field of ropeways. Himachal Pradesh will play a role as a guide for other states of the country in the coming times. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said this while participating as the chief guest in the symposium organized on new urban transport through ropeways at Hotel Holiday Home in Shimla today.
Preparations begin to build the country’s longest ropeway in Shimla, this was revealed in the seminar.
Shimla, July 31: The government has taken an important step to get rid of the traffic problem in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla. The country’s largest 14 km long ropeway project is going to be built in the city. A seminar was organized by the Ropeway and Rapid System Development Corporation in Shimla regarding this project, in which Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri arrived as the chief guest.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that this ropeway to be built in Shimla will be the second largest in the world and the largest ropeway in India. This ropeway, which will be built at a cost of Rs 1734 crore, will have about 220 trolleys and 14 stoppages. Tara Devi to Old Bus Stand, Sanjauli and other areas of Shimla will be connected by ropeway. This will provide relief from the ever-increasing traffic problem in Shimla. Ropeway construction will not only solve the traffic problem, but will also promote tourism and transportation. All the processes related to the ropeway project have been completed and the construction work of this project will start by the end of the year or the new year. Efforts will be made to complete the project in five years.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sundar Thakur, MLA Harish Janartha, Mayor Surender Chauhan along with the officials related to the projects and others were present in the seminar.
