Appearance at the court of the Center again regarding the issue of Hati community, delegation met the Home Minister
A delegation of the Hati community led by Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the Lok Sabha office. The delegation expressed gratitude to the Central Government for granting tribal status, while also apprising the Home Minister about the non-implementation of this law by the state government. They urged the Union Minister to implement this law as soon as possible.
Shimla, July 31: A delegation of Hati community led by Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur met Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in the Lok Sabha office. The delegation expressed its gratitude by thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for granting Scheduled Tribe status to the Hati community. The delegation also informed the Home Minister about the state government not implementing the law even after the Hati community got Scheduled Tribe status through constitutional amendment.
The delegation said that more than a year has passed since the law was enacted but due to the indifference of the state government, no one has got any benefit yet. The Sukhu government has created obstacles at every step in implementing this law. Ever since the Congress-led Sukhu government came to power, the law made to protect the interests of the Hati community has been obstructed in every way. Due to which the Hati community has not been able to get any benefit of the law passed by the Parliament.
The delegation also requested the Home Minister to implement the law giving Scheduled Tribe status to the Hati community as soon as possible. The delegation included Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur along with former MLA of Shillai Baldev Tomar, Professor Amichand, Kundan Singh, Ran Singh and Atar Singh Negi.
