Bilaspur, July 30: A young man was found dead in the toilet of Poornam Mall, and police are investigating the incident as a suspected drug overdose. The deceased has been identified as Vinit, a student of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Bilaspur and a resident of Badsaur village in Bilaspur Sadar.

A visitor to the mall spotted Vinit’s body and immediately informed the police. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a syringe on the toilet seat, raising suspicion that Vinit may have died of an overdose of a powerful drug called chitta.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shiv Chaudhary confirmed Vinit’s identity and shared the initial findings. ASP Chaudhary said, “We are looking at it as a suspected drug overdose case. The syringe found at the scene indicates drug use, but we are conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the exact cause of death and any contributing factors.”

This tragic incident has drawn attention to the ongoing issue of drug abuse in the area, especially among young people. The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to gather more information about the circumstances that led to Vinit’s death.
